First, indentify the surface you will be working with. Bare metal, plastic and existing painted surfaces all require a different approach to obtaining the ideal finish.

Over Bare Metal
- Degrease with a wax and grease removal product
- Apply an etch primer to prepare the metal
- To obtain your desired finish, apply the colour of your choice in the number of coats specified on the label
- To maintain the finish ongoing, apply 3-4 good coats of clear (allow 24 hours if wet sanding and buffing)
Over Existing Paint
- Degrease with a wax and grease removal product
- Scuff glossy surface with 600 grit paper to ensure adhesion
- Degrease again with a wax and grease removal product
- Apply appropriate primer
- To get your desired finish, apply the colour of your choice in the number of coats specified on the label
- To maintain the finish ongoing, apply 3-4 good coats of clear (allow 24 hours if wet sanding and buffing)
Over Bare Plastic
- Degrease with a wax and grease removal product
- Scuff glossy surface with 600 grit paper to ensure adhesion
- Degrease again with a wax and grease removal product
- Apply the appropriate number of plastic primer coats to prepare the plastic
- Immediately apply the colour of your choice in the number of coats specified on the label
- To maintain the finish ongoing, apply 3-4 good coats of clear (allow 24 hours if wet sanding and buffing)
