The ToolPRO Coil Spring Compressor Pair relieves tension on coil springs during shock absorber replacement on hatchbacks and small family sedans fitted with MacPherson struts. The dual jaw compressors hold and secure the spring, allowing you to remove pressure from the top hat of the strut, making removal straightforward. Once the old strut is out, the spring transfers to the new shock absorber and a new top hat installs over the top.
Dual jaws deliver stability and grip, with wrap-around design that captures spring coils securely. Lead screws are made from carbon steel with black zinc coating for corrosion resistance and work with either a hex spanner or 1/2″ square drive ratchet wrench. Maximum jaw capacity is 9 inches. These compressors are not designed for use on heavy duty 4WD or performance suspension systems with high spring rates.
