The Gates Water Blanking Cap 13mm (1/2 Inch) Single GBC13 is designed to block off unnecessary ports on heater systems and other components in the engine coolant circulating system of ground vehicles. This blanking cap, also known as a block off plug, can also be used for vacuum applications where no oil or fuel vapour is present. It is made from ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber (EPDM), a material chosen for its compatibility with automotive coolants, corrosion inhibitors, cooling water, water and air.
The Gates Water Blanking Cap operates across a wide temperature range of -40°C to 125°C (-40°F to 257°F), suiting the extremes seen in an engine bay. It is supplied as a single 13mm (1/2 inch) cap for use where a coolant or vacuum port needs to be sealed off.
