The Gulf Western Gear Lube GL-5 85W-140 4L Non-LSD is a multipurpose, shear stable gear oil built to API GL-4 and GL-5 specifications for heavy-duty gearboxes and axles. Formulated on sulphur phosphorus extreme pressure technology, it protects helical, spiral bevel and hypoid gears from scuffing, welding and galling under severe load. The multigrade SAE 85W-140 viscosity maintains wear protection across a wide temperature range and reduces drag at start up, so the need for seasonal oil changes is eliminated.
Gear Lube GL-5 85W-140 keeps manual transmissions, final drives, hubs and transfer cases running under high load, resisting foaming and corrosion that would otherwise shorten gear life in mining, earthmoving, transport and agricultural equipment.
Gear Lube GL-5 85W-140 suits gear boxes, manual transmissions, final drives, hubs and transfer cases across automotive, transport, earthmoving and agricultural applications, but it is not suitable for limited slip differentials, which need a friction modified gear oil instead.
