The Bendix Ultimate Tow+ Portable Electric Brake Controller is a fully portable electric trailer brake controller designed for drivers who regularly switch between different tow vehicles, trailers and caravans. Its Plug 'n' Play patch harness connects between existing 7-pin or 12-pin trailer plugs, no dash drilling, no extra wiring, so the whole system is ready to tow in under 15 minutes. The in-car LCD controller powers via USB-A, USB-C or the included 12V lighter socket adaptor, and communicates with the trailer unit via encrypted RF link, with no app, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth required.
The portable electric brake controller delivers 30 levels of fine digital brake force adjustment, more than double the 12 levels offered by many competing systems, so drivers can closely modulate trailer braking across a range of loads and road conditions. A twist-dial interface and large LCD screen keep all settings visible from the driver's seat, while the override button independently applies the trailer brakes to correct sway without touching the vehicle brakes. Built-in fault detection provides real-time visual and audible alerts if the trailer disconnects; if the in-car unit is unplugged, the trailer brakes continue operating on their last-used settings.
