Question from D.Marsh:
What do I need to install a subwoofer into my car like what cables and do I need an amp what watt should it all be?
Answer:
The type of cabling and amp to use will depend on what sort of system and Sub you will be running.
If the system high performance e.g. multiple RCA out put on head unit with sub control and you running a sub larger than about 2000watts then its advisable to use an amp that is around the 1000watt range and a cabling kit that is about 4 or 0 gauge this makes sure that there is no resistance and that the amp is running to its full potential.
Basically what ever wattage your sub is halving it and that will give you a base wattage to run your sub at but it will be necessary to use an amp unless you have a sub that is less than 200 watts.
